BOMAG refuse compactors operate on a high-pressure hydraulic system with few components in the drive train. This results in high efficiency and thus low energy consumption. Additionally, speed-controlled radiator fans provide an adapted air flow to cool the engine, saving around 5% fuel.
The basis for good compaction is the distribution of refuse into suitable layer thickness.
For an even distribution, the operator needs a machine that offers precision, high thrust forces and traction. All standard for all BOMAG refuse compactors. The joystick is simple and hassle-free to use, which means great precision even during long shifts. The smooth hydrostatic drive converts the power of the water-cooled turbo diesel engine into high output power. For optimum use of the available power, the load limit control automatically adjusts the travel speed to the load.
Our unique feature is an oscillating articulated joint, designed for the toughest loads and stresses in landfill operation. It allows ± 15° oscillation and 40° steering to both sides between the front and rear frame. This enables all wheels to maintain ground contact, ensuring optimum compaction, safety and traction.
Every machine on a waste disposal site has its specific purpose. Thanks to our innovative RS variant, your compactor can do the job of two. Put it to work on compaction, loading, and use its shovel with tilt function for transport jobs, i. e. for moving waste around or loading trucks. Especially on smaller landfills, the RS variant saves you a lot of money and hassle – as your compactor can also replace the wheel loader you would otherwise need.

AS MUCH – AND AS LITTLE – INFORMATION AS NECESSARY.
There’s no question that real-time information about your compactor is important. But too much of it can also be distracting. That’s why we focus on what really counts – displayed clearly on a glare-free display that is perfectly positioned in the driver’s field of vision. The most important information is visible at first glance, further details can be added simply by clicking on the joystick. Every function can be controlled conveniently by joystick via the menu navigation – in your local language, of course. Units of measurement can be displayed in either metric or imperial. Should errors occur, our machines tell you in plain language directly on the display.
Regardless of whether it is the height of the dozer blade, the currently set direction of travel or the side tilt of the machine in critical situations – everything is clearly displayed.
And right at the start of the workday, the operator can even call up how much operating time is left with the fuel remaining in the tank.
The most important information for the operator is displayed on the main screen. Additional data can be called up as needed via the joystick and machine control system readings can be easily navigated to via the menu. This allows easy and comfortable in-depth monitoring and analysing of all relevant machine data.
